Religious Trauma & Deconstruction
Religion, faith and spirituality are important parts of many of our lives. But what happens when that part of our life starts to create anxiety, overwhelm, guilt and shame within us? It could be time to seek outside help to manage these feelings.
Maybe you are questioning your beliefs for the first time (or fiftieth!) and want an outside perspective. Maybe you grew up in purity culture and need help to get past those beliefs. Maybe you’ve had one or multiple adverse religious experiences, to include trauma and abuse, that have left you wounded.
I provide a secular, non-religious approach to helping you navigate these issues and find healing. This is your therapy, therefore you ultimately guide where we go. This might mean staying in your current faith, deconstructing, transitioning to a different faith practice or something else. I am not here to pressure you to move towards one direction or another, simply to walk alongside you as you gain clarity.
